Flexographic printing is a very old printing technique and, even today, it is still widely exploited.
What are the reasons for this long success of flexography?
The advantages of flexographic printing are mainly:
- high speed
- ability to operate on many different packaging materials, such as metal films, plastics, acetates and cartons
- use of liquid and sliding inks, which therefore tend to dry quickly, greatly shortening preparation time and costs.
Our experience in motion control field, especially in the control of the flexographic printing press registers and in the automatic adjustment of the position of the printing units (also through electronic leaflets) of the flexographic machines, has led us to develop more and more specific and specialized solutions.
Our smart solution, which can be developed with both stepper and brushlees technology, includes:
- stepper or brushless fieldbus drive (available with Profinet, CANopen, Modbus RTU, Ethercat and Modbus TCP/IP fieldbuses) that can be interfaced to the most common PLCs on the market to exchange variable
- Feedback from absolute multi-turn encoder without battery integrated in the motor, which allows the automatic calibration of all adjustments at each start of the machine, reducing the need for highly specialized operators to intervene.
For each printing unit it is possible to automate the advancement of the anilox cylinders and the plates, as well as the transverse and longitudinal registers.
Our solutions can be highly customized, according to any customers needs.
